We live in a world of instant gratification. I see it all the time on Social Media, small businesses voicing their concerns about whether anyone is paying attention to them or not. They find it frustrating when they don't get feedback right away. Or, if their audience isn't engaging with them. Just because there aren't comments or LIKES, does not always mean no one is paying attention.
Most of the followers online are quiet followers. They like to follow and keep track of what is going on, they do not, however, want to participate. Just because there isn't a lot of engagement, does not mean a you are being ignored, if fact, it might be the opposite.

Not only is persistence the key, so is being consistent.
If your Social Media audience slowly builds up – that is a good thing. It means it is working. It is all about quality, not quantity. Asking people to LIKE your page or follow you on Twitter, in exchange for you doing the same, is not quality. Quality is people who do it because it means something to them to be a part of your Social Network. Quantity can sometimes be a turn off to followers, unless you are a major brand, author, actor, etc.
If you are being ignored, it is time to change it up.
Focus… Experiment… Engage… Educate… Have FUN!
